Kelli Weiss and Teri Bedard will be speaking on Creating a Healing Environment. Here they will discuss environmental factors that will promote a healing environment for the patient and enhance the patient experience.

Matthew Terry and Scott Plemmons will be speaking on The Baby Boomer Effect on Radiation Oncology. With an already overwhelmed Medicare, Matt and Scott will discuss how radiation oncology will be affected by the continued decrease in reimbursement coupled with the rise in patient load and growing shortage of physicians.

Matthew Terry and Tamara Syverson will be speaking on The Medicare Reimbursement Equation: How Does It Work? This lecture is designed to educate radiation therapy personnel on how the Medicare reimbursement equation determines their facility’s revenue. The differences between hospital-based and freestanding facilities, including where this information can be found, how it was derived and how it affects the overall reimbursement equation will be explored.

Teri Bedard and Judy Yarberry will be speaking on Teamwork with the Tumor Registry and the Radiation Oncology Department. Information will be provided to help facilities attain full compliance with statewide data collection requirements and receive approval by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.

Scott Plemmons and Teri Bedard will be speaking on The Humanity of Patient Orientation in Radiation Oncology. Scott and Teri will discuss the importance of creating an environment in the radiation orientation experience that will help alleviate the patient’s apprehension and stress thus allowing their focus to be on the healing process.

Kelli Weiss and Tamara Syverson will be speaking on Analyzing Your Workflow: Step One to EMR. This presentation is intended for all personnel who are, or will be, dredging through the EMR process and to give them a better understanding of all that is involved in the transition.

Revenue Cycle Inc. will be exhibiting at the 25th Annual Meeting. RCI will be presenting the following speakers:

Ron DiGiaimo will be participating on the 2008 Radiation Oncology Panel and speaking on Legal Joint Ventures- Physician/Freestanding/Hospital. Ron DiGiaimo and Sharon Swann
will discuss when is the right time to consider joint ventures and possible return on investment comparisons showing the differences in hospital/freestanding payments around the country.

Judy Yarberry will be speaking on Acuity of Treatment Regimen – Staffing Models. Judy will discuss how to obtain acuity ratings from IMRT and IGRT using ARIA. This discussion will include options on assigning acuity to different type of treatment and how that affects the staffing models. She will share a template for administrators to access in their own department and support the staffing model they need to provide the service to the patients.

Kelli Weiss and Tamara Syverson will speak on 2008 Coding and Documentation Updates. This presentation is designed to educate the Radiation Oncology Administrator, Manager, Therapist and all other radiation oncology professionals on the 2008 codes and the documentation needed to support charging these codes.

Teri Bedard and Scott Plemmons will be speaking on The Humanity of Patient Orientation in Radiation Oncology.
